What's inside VapoCept
Each ingredient, the amount per capsule, and a plain account of what research does and doesn't show. The label describes the formula as supporting focus and mental clarity.*
Ginkgo biloba leaf extract
100 mg
4:1 concentrate
Ginkgo is one of the most-studied herbs in cognition research, looked at for attention, memory and circulation. Most clinical trials used a specific standardized extract at 120 to 240 mg a day, and results in healthy adults have been mixed. It's the ingredient that most defines VapoCept's new direction.
D-glucosamine sulfate
250 mg
potassium chloride form
The largest ingredient by weight. Glucosamine is best known for joint support; research on it for focus or memory is limited. It's worth knowing about for safety: it's often derived from shellfish and can interact with blood thinners.
Turmeric root extract
50 mg
30:1 concentrate
Turmeric's main compound, curcumin, is being studied for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, including small trials on memory and attention in older adults. Curcumin is poorly absorbed on its own, which is an active area of research.
Marigold flower extract
25 mg
standardized to 5% lutein, about 1.25 mg
Lutein is a carotenoid that collects in the eye and in brain tissue. Studies in older adults have linked higher lutein levels with better scores on some cognitive tests; supplement trials typically used higher daily amounts than this.
Green tea leaf extract
15 mg
98% polyphenols, 50% EGCG
A small amount of a highly standardized extract, providing about 7.5 mg of EGCG, green tea's main antioxidant. At this amount it isn't a meaningful source of caffeine, so VapoCept isn't a stimulant.
Bamboo leaf extract
5 mg
30:1, standardized to 70% silica
A plant source of silica, the mineral form of silicon, which is mostly associated with connective tissue, hair and nails. Its role in brain health isn't well studied.
